Stephen C. Saddler, M.D.
Dr. Saddler is a board certified Orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty certificate in Sports Medicine. He is one of the regionís leading surgeons for the treatment of articular cartilage defects of the knee. His practice focuses on the treatment of complex shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle injuries. He has been practicing in the Northern Virginia area for the past 17 years. He has also been the head physician for the Potomac Nationals, minor league affiliate of the Washington Nationals for the past 14 years.
Dr. Saddler is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Amherst College. Dr. Saddler received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco, and performed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery (Cornell University) in New York City. He subsequently performed a two year clinical and research fellowship in sports medicine at Cincinnati Sports medicine and Orthopedic Center in Ohio. He has served as the Chief of the Orthopedic Division of INOVA Mt. Vernon hospital , and has been the Chairman of the Surgical Case Review committee. Dr. Saddler has published articles on knee ligament biomechanics and is a Clinical Instructor at the Georgetown University Department of Orthopedics.
