William G. Hamilton, M.D.
Dr. Hamilton, a native of Ithaca, New York, is a fellowship trained specialist in the field of hip and knee reconstruction, and one of the leading joint replacement surgeons in the area. He frequently travels the country to lecture and consult on topics involving joint replacement, and he has several ongoing research studies in this area. Because his practice is focused on hip & knee replacement, he has a keen understanding of the intricacies and complexities involved in these surgeries. He was awarded the prestigious Insall Knee Society traveling fellowship, with visits to many of the leading centers for hip and knee replacement in North America.
In 2009, Dr Hamilton became the first surgeon in the Inova Health System to perform the anterior approach to total hip arthroplasty utilizing the specialized Hana table. This exciting muscle sparing approach offers the possibility of less postoperative pain and an accelerated recovery for today’s active patient population.

Most importantly, listening to and getting to know his patients is his top priority. "A successful replacement is more than just knowing how to put the implants in correctly, it's anticipating and responding to the needs of your patient. I'm proud to be part of a practice and joint replacement center that strives to do this everyday."
